No, this is not a trick question. Years ago I purchased a Monster HTS 3500 Power Center. It died not because of a lighting strike it just died. Monster sent me a 3600 MKI since the 3500's were no longer sold. Then the 3600 MKI gave its life during a storm. This time I received a 3600 MKII which in time just quit working. Received another 3600 MKII. Same song different verse. This one simply quit working a few months ago. Today i received another new 3600 MKII!
Let's check the score card: 1 - 3500, 1 - 3600 MKI, 3 - 3600 MKII's. All for the price of the first 3500. I believe in holding manufacturers to their warranties.
I must admit the Monster power centers did absorb multiple outages and kept working, for a while. It seems the Monster's had a definite predetermined life span regardless of power surges. After the last one died I came to my senses and purchased a different brand, a Panamax M4300-PM. Numerous retailers recommended this specific model over the Monster HTS 3600 MKII. I am very happy to report that so far, through good weather and terrible lighning storms it is performing perfectly.
So here I am with another brand new (but no longer on Monster's current product listing) Monster HTS 3600 MKII. A quick look at eBay tells me there are numerous ones for sale but no buyers. Unless I sell it for pennies on the dollar it wi go into storage unless one of you has a better idea.
All suggestions, comments and even jokes are welcomed.
