New receiver input....

Hey gurus, so I have been looking at receivers for a while, was settled on the Pioneer 1121 and was waiting until I moved......long story short they have apparently gone short supply and prices are rising. I prefer to stay around $600, need to use Amazon.

So basically I'm looking at the new Pio 1122 but it appears to be a step down, the Denon 2112 or 2312 or I guess the 1913.

I like that the Pio upscales everything, but it appears that the Denon(s) have separate discrete amps. Is this a huge quality of sound improvement? Im coming from an HK 635. I'm only using a cable box,Xbox, and ps3/bluray. I like the airplay/wireless features as well for music.

Basically please give me the best advice in regards to which is the best receiver to get for the money.

Pioneer is a lost cause as far as I'm concerned. The denons are nice as are the yamahas.

New denons are coming out now but they have stripped a lot of legacy connections off. So you may want to consider last years models, which will also save you quite a bit of $ as well.

So then I'm assuming the Denon 2312 is what you'd recommend?

Any other input guys? Is the Denon 2312 the best receiver for my price range? Is "discrete channel amp" a big deal?

Do you want the 2312?

Well I wanted the Pio 1121, but it's gone essentially and the 1122 seems like a step down. Denons seem to get a lot of love here and those 3 models fit my $$$ range. I'm assuming the 2312 is the best for the money....

I am sure you would be happy with the denon, but if you have your heart set on a 1121k there are some new ones on ebay . I realize ebay is not for everyone but i thought i would mentioned it just the same. I have a denon 3311 and love it and also a yamaha rx-a1000 which is great also. If you are close to any audio stores its good to go into the actual store as you never know what you will find on sale. I got my yamaha at less than half price.

If I had to choose? I would go with the Denon over the Pioneer, but that's personal preference. I myself have Integra and would stick with that over time and other brands.
