Upgrade Denon AVR-591 to Denon AVR 2312CI

Thinking upgrading Denon AVR-591 to Denon AVR 2312CI. My Speakers are polk monitor 70's, cs2 center, monitor 30's surround and klipsch sw-450 sub. Will I notice any difference in sound?

Here the specs on each receiver

Thanks everyone

I would say about the same.

"Might" possibly be a hair worse, even. They are rather similar.

Why update your current receiver anyway? Seems pretty up to date from what I see. Especially, with just another Denon. Seems more of a right to left shift.

You could always buy one and try it and then return it if you get nothing out of it.

What you might really want is to upgrade the brand. Open up to more choices you might be surprised.

Yes, you would notice an improvement although perhaps only slight as the 591 uses the lower version of Audyssey MultEQ whereas the 2312CI uses the next higher version MultEQ XT which has the same number of sub filters but 8x more speaker filters. The 2312CI also features a much nicer GUI which can overlay on 2D and 3D video to include a volume bar whereas the 591 has no such GUI overlay. The 2312CI is also a 7.2 AVR which would allow placing speakers in another room/patio (ie. Zone 2) and playing an independent analog audio source to that Zone. Additionally the 2312CI is a networking AVR which would allow you to connect to internet radio stations as well as control the AVR using a smartphone from anywhere in your home that has access to your WiFi network. The XX12 models are also on clearance now with the new XX13 models just released a few weeks ago.

The 2312 may give you a little improvement in sound due to Audyssey MultiEQ XT and a little more power at higher volumes but the biggest improvement will be in features as JD has mentioned above.

I have the 591 in my bedroom setup and works well with my Energy RC-10, RC LCR and RC Mini setup.

Where did you buy from?

you can get it from jr.com just under $500 by calling and speaking with a sales rep.

Yep, Vanns had an advertised price as you said, and my dealer priced matched. So I got a killer deal on the AVR-2312ci. Otherwise I would had spent $100 more.

Not bad considering a lot of stores sold this AVR-2312ci for $900 or $850, when it was first released. Worth waiting for sure.

I never buy anything when it's released. I usually buy at year end. Got my truck for $12,000 under MSRP by purchasing it at year end. Got my TV for over 50% less than it's MSRP by buying midyear instead of at it's release date.

So I've ordered the 2312, now I need to get speakers. I was looking at the Infinity P153 all the way around and an Energy S10.3 sub, but the P153's are rather large for the room I am putting them in. I wanted the receiver for future expansion, but for now do not need the most powerful speakers (not that the P153's are that). Any suggestions?
