UN55D8000 or the UN55ES7500

Hello,

This is my first time posting, but I've used the discussions on these forums for many years now and I appreciate everyone's input.

Here's my situation:
I purchased the LG 55LM8600 from Amazon. Although their service and price matching is great, I'm not too thrilled with the picture quality of the TV. I decided to return it and now purchase a Samsung 55 inch TV.

If it were your decision, would you buy the UN55D8000 (at $2400 because they don't manuf any new ones?) or the UN55ES7500 (at $2500)?

I value picture quality above the other tools. I have read some bad reviews on the UN55ES7500 on amazon and am concerned about whether its a legitimate issue.

Thank you for your help,

Sachin

How about neither? Get a Panasonic 55VT50 if you value PQ above all else.

ES7500, PQ will be pretty much identical. For same price get 2012 tech. LG uses different panel tech vs Sammy so they def look different. I read about a lot of peeps on these forums returning their LGs for Sammys.

If you will be doing 90% of your watching in a dark or dimly lit room, go for the VT50 Panny. I found plasma daytime picture too dim, nighttime was stellar and will beat LCD in a dark room as far as PQ goes. Daytime plasma will look washed out due to the panel tech.
