I like the show but have to agree with you on both counts - Charlie is an improved character but the story overall has lost direction and purpose.
I thought it was me, since so many here like S2 more than S1 but I think it's actually worse. S1 actually made sense in a fractured country, with all the tin-horn dictators fighting over the scraps. it also made sense that the show used an shadow govt conspiracy for the nukes and the power outage to begin with. but that's only given cursory treatment this season.
now the main point seems to be getting Monroe & Son back in business as dictators and Aaron in touch with fireflies.
too many unrealistic Monroe-Rachel-Miles saves, a complete shift from power to fireflies, a sappy Aaron taking Charlie's place. even using biological warfare to subjugate and wipe out a town, to no clear purpose looks to be about discarded as a story arc.
the one main thing redeeming the season is Neville
and even that's becoming over-used.
Evil Dead - good drive in movie, tho Edited by ss9001 - 2/3/14 at 12:59pm
