Yaknow, D, I'm "a dog person," but she's one Cat I'd snuggle up with any day! (response to your opening post)

Oh, and thanks for "picking up my slack" this year. After beating you to the punch the last two years, I've been sort of AVS-AWOL this year until today. I got too involved in too many threads eating up too much of my time last year. But SYTYCD, WELL, that's just DIFFERENT! I've never seen a show that's had the impact on me that show has, and I can't explain it. I don't watch ANY of the other competition shows... No "AI," nor "X-Factor," nor "Greatest American" this or that. I TRIED watching DWTS a couple seasons, since Chelsie Hightower was on it (and I'm CRAZY about Tom Bergeron), but I finally just couldn't take what they call a "star" on that show. This season, when, by accident, I saw Chelsie and her partner were getting close to the semis, I followed the NEWS of the show. But after they were eliminated, I quit doing even that. OH, and they'll put a REAL professional dancer on (like Nicole Scherzinger), and then make a big deal about how well she dances as she "waltzes her way" all the way to that stupid little plastic mirror-ball trophy (I think that was my final season).
SYTYCD, on the other hand, it's just more "pure." I mean, not that some of the contestants aren't also already seasoned pros to some extent (like Alex, who quit the Miami Ballet to be on the show). But they're still mostly all young and enthusiastic and "full of light." That's the only way I know to put it.
