I watched this one last night. I'm not sure how it got into my queue. Maybe someone recommended it, or just random associative scanning. It's difficult not to compare any movie like this to Sideways, which sort of defines the silly but intelligent two guys road trip type of movie. It's very roughly an English version of Sideways I guess, but quite different in the details. Basically it's two actors, playing themselves, going on a trip through northern England for a food magazine. One of them was going to go with his girlfriend, but they are having a rocky period, so he takes a friend instead.
Maybe I was just in the mood for it, but I thought was just stupidly hilarious. You can imagine that these two guys are almost winging all of the dialogue in a way. They are constantly riffing off of something or another. One is a comedian (Steve Coogan, who started off I guess doing a lot of impersonations slash impressions) and the other is currently an impersonator (Rob Brydon.) That's actually a lot of the content, but it's so well done and funny. As with any such movie, they bicker like an old couple much of the time as well, often in faux character.
Anyhoo, if you are into that sort of silly but intellectual humor, you'd probably like it. My lungs were actually wheezing pretty badly by the time it was over from laughing so much.
