KEF HTB2SE or Scandyna Ball

Considering they are of similar price, and both aesthetically pleasing, what's a better choice in terms of sound quality?

(I am using KEF Ci160QS as in-wall LCR speakers, not sure if using KEF subwoofer as the same brand is a reason to choose...)

Thanks for your opinion.

You mean you wouldn't recommend this?

I never heard Kef, but I saw a older video a few months ago showing another defective kef sub. You may have good luck with it. Will the store let you return it without a restocking fee if you buy it and don't like it? I hear that kef subs hit hard. I never heard of the other brand sorry. I see that scandyna is a little cheaper in price then the Kef sub. Both look pretty cool.
I will try to find more info on both for you. Sorry about the late response by the way.

I guess kef will have more bass cuz bigger sub woofer. A lot of people on here think you do better with svs and hsu subs. they are internet only dealers. I haven't ever heard them though.

Thanks for your opinion.

Bloody hell. That looks to be probably the worst buy in the subwoofer world...

I would suggest staying away from the boutique subs unless you don't mind spending big bucks to get good performance. Look at products from SVS, Outlaw, HSU, etc.

Haha thx. I will go for the kef. Hope that works w my kef in wall.

Btw, has anyone heard things like shouldn't match KEF w Pioneer amp VSX LX55 cuz the result is too "bright"? What does that mean and is it true??

FWIW, I have both the flagship Scandyna sub (the BassStation, which is bigger and better than the Ball) and two HTB2's.

The HTB2 is the better sub than the BassStation, full stop. More output, cleaner, about the same extension (40Hz or so). So it should blow the crap out of the Ball.

Here's a thread with measurements of a system using two HTB2's and a bigger sub. While I no longer use that configuration, it sounded as great as the measurements indicate. The thread includes individual measurements for the HTB2's at two different spots in my room.

this is an old thread but i guess i'll contribute.

i own htb2se. great sub for a smaller room. If you have a big open plan room you may need to push the sub but overall given the design and size i think this sub is ok. I have since bought SVS and happy with them.
