HTPC output 24bit/96k via SPDIF --->Yamaha v671 internal DAC ---> output decoded unamplified analog signal via zone 2 pre-out RCAs ---> Graham Slee Solo L/R RCA input ---> AKG k702 reference headphone.

I trying to use Yamaha v671's internal DAC for decoding 24bit/96k file while bypass its headphone amp and using an external heaphone amp instead.

1. Can I connect v671's zone 2 pre-out RCAs to my headphone amp to achieve my goal?

2. Is the signal from zone 2 pre-out amplified or unamplified?

3. Also, will I be forced to have only 5.1 when zone 2 pre-out is connected but not active (headphone amp switched off)?

4. How is the v671's decoding capability? I am debating whether if should I get a dedicated 24bit/192k decoder and bypass v671 all together.

Many thanks in advance
