So I finally cut up a 12v dc power adapter that I ordered from parts express to powerup my mini dsp and test it out. Loaded up the configuration I wanted and went to the speaker system to test it out. At some point while it was hooked up I slipped while i was messing with the amp and when i braced my self my hand like half pushed down the surge protectors power button and cause a brief flicker of power(best I can describe it). All of the sudden I noticed my JBL 2245h freaking out so I immediately cut power to everything.
When I booted everything back up things seemed to be back to normal until the bass started coming in and I can now see the foam on the top half of the JBL has come unglued from the speaker cone and basket.
So now I have two JBL 2245h drivers that are in need of new foam, I previously had one where the foam was starting to rot.
How easy is it to refoam these? are kits like these fairly easy to do?

I also called the local JBL repair center this morning and the guy I spoke to said they no longer sell JBL foam kits for these models, so if I really wanted a factory job I'd probably need to get a whole recone cause he can still get those kits which have the foam ($270 :/) Or depending on the 2245hs baskets it might be possible to recone to a 2242h ($220) if the specs match.
So now I'm deciding between attempting a refoam, getting a recone, or should I just say eff it and go buy a new driver from parts express like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-036, the specs seem somewhat close lol
grrr...I should have never started upgrading and remained ignorant and blissful
