Hello,
My motherboard has an internal S/PDIF header. I also have a bios setting: SPDIF Out Type [SPDIF/HDMI].
I would like to try and use it with this SPDIF out Bracket from Amazon
, for coax digital out to my speakers' control unit since I only have a Toslink port on the mobo.
Question: Will that S/pdif header use the onboard Realtek ALC892 sound drivers or will it use one of my video card's HDMI driver's? (I have an Nvidia graphics card with HDMI, and my Intel CPU has an HDMI integrated GPU as well.)
I don't think I'll be able to control the 5.1 sound settings if I can't install the Realtek driver's on that S/PDIF device. (I watch movies in 5.1 a lot.)
I have a bunch of questions. Sorry in advance for so many posts. Trying to keep things clear. :-)

My setup:
Asus P8Z68-V LE
Realtek ALC892 onboard
Philips HTS6500/37 Home theater 2.1 with virtual 5.1 -- RCA & Coaxial in only
Connected via 3.5mm-to-RCA analog now.
