Were there any comments of substance regarding the Samsung ES8000 LED set?? I have one on order to complement my VT50. I watched until 6:30 (end of Samsung representative's presentation) but then my wife MADE me go out for dinner and I only got back just in time to see the wrap-up . When are the clips to be up on YouTube?

Yeah, Sharp gets to lead off and when it cam to questions nobody asked this and worse was when they were going through the test colors it was like 2 minutes on all the color screens and then cyan comes on and is off within 20 seconds. Should be a good fight but seems like given the sets chosen this is they way it would be from the beginning.

Haha.. I didnt last that long, after the manufacturer's intro I zoned out!

I would flip back every so often to see/hear what was going on, but for us non-geeky people it was like watching paint dry!
Next time ill wait for the 5 min. synopsis, or maybe pop a couple of Ritalin!

But very good point! The panny LCD looked like sh@@$1. I think it's safe to say that they have a ways to go (check out the DT review).
Not sure how that set made the cut,but not Sony. They didn't really go into too much detail on why, unless I missed that during one of my zone outs.

To me, the shootout lost all credibility by a) allowing the panny lcd over the sony and b) not mentioning the cyan issue to the sharp rep!

Imo there should have been HX850 instead of that crappy panny. Im sure it destroys ES8000 too.

No Kidding! That panasonic lcd looked awful! There's no way the 929 should have been excluded from from the list. While it has it's shortcomings as all displays do, reviews have been very positive overall. Even the 850 would have been a better alternative than that panasonic lcd. Very Strange!

Yeah, from the early reviews the 850 looks very nice! Really makes you scratch your head! Like they said before the shootout, the sony just can't compete with models we have on display.
