NHK and JVC develop 120fps 8K Super Hi-Vision projector

This 120fps Super Hi-Vision projector will be a companion to NHK's newly developed relatively small 8K CMOS Broadcast camera, the Sharp 85" 8K LCD TV shown last year and at Cedia 2012, and the recently presented Panasonic 145" 8K plasma TV.
NHK also successfully transmitted 8K terrestrial broadcast over a distance of 4.2 kilometres in the UHF band in Japan in April.

This 120fps 8K Super Hi-Vision projector is not exactly "breaking news". We have seen JVC's 8K projector presented before.
If I read the press release right, this projector acquire 8K by the same e-Shift method as the JVC "4K" e-shift HT projector that has been available for some time.

If I remember right, JVC has presented one or two different 8K projectors with full 8K panels previously, but I read somewhere that JVC found that projectors with full resolution 8K panels became too expensive, and that's why they go for this e-Shift "8K hybrid" version.

NHK will present the projector and all the other 8K equipment at NHK "open house" exhibit in Japan May 24-27.
