Dark scenes are simply atrocious. Mostly incorrect shutter speed of 1/50 (50Hz in Europe), or 1/60 in the U.S. Super low resolution. Even a garbage 35mm film stock is six times higher. In conclusion, virtually ZERO film like quality....

Got it. I think you have a more trained eye for what you consider to be film like quality, but I'll do some comparisons with a more critical eye. Thanks for the explanation.

The red cameras are the fattest of all, the Genesis had more depth

He did not shoot the digitally captured sections of Zodiac and Benjamin Button with the Red One.

That's right, wasn't Zodiac shot with the Viper?

Yep, bar high speed shots

Well damn. My scope screen is big, but when viewing 1.78 it's only 96". Guess I'll have to build a new screen so that number gets a bump. wink.gif

I thought Fincher's Social Network looked terrible. It was obvious (to myself) it was shot digitally. I mean, if he was trying to emulate film, it was a big fail.
I doubt Fincher went for a "true filmlike look" (like for e.g periodfilms like Zodiac and Benjammin Button) for Social Network but I too found it to look very digital.

And I hated the look of The Avengers. I really dug the contrasts and fresh look of the two Iron Man films... but The Avengers being shot on digital and projected digital looked very flat and dull. Almost like a cheap Sci-Fi Tv-series. I also disliked the 1.78 AR. I saw it in 2D.

i was so happy when I went to see You Sister's Sister and it was a 35mm copy (even though that film is shot on video I guess). Soon the chances of that will be over.

Was the discussion ever concluded about the fact that we never saw his body?

He practically retired last week, plus when he signed on it did not have the Joss script so the character was not the same

I have a feeling that Coulson is actually NOT dead...
But since this thread is the Blu-ray discussion, I'll save further comments about the plot for the film discussion...

Iron Man 1 is really so good? I almost forget the details of that movie.
