I have to give you a little crap on one thing though. You really couldn't remember another rock song from that movie? That one by Black Sabbath? What was the name of that song again? biggrin.gif

Bronze Boy!

No, no ...wait, maybe it was Copper Dude! Yeah. That sounds right. I know it wasn't Man of Steel cuz that was a whole nother dude altogether.

Disney have told us that Joss Whedon recorded his commentary too late for the UK Avengers DVD/Blu-ray. They chose not to delay release... http://is.gd/k4NdTn

Currently there are no plans for a future Avengers DVD/Blu-ray that will include Whedon's commentary

Also exclusive cover and extra disc in the UK

"Avengers Assemble"...did they change the title so the UK crowd wouldn't mistake them for John Steed and Emma Peel? tongue.gif

Yep

I've seen the doc that Sainsburys are touting as an exclusive in the UK and Target in the US.

98mins of "Gee whiz, aren't we great? Wasn't Iron Man 2 and the The Incredible Hulk great? Never mind the fact that we badmouthed them earlier, shhhhhhhh, nobody will remember that...."

Is it just me or is the 3d better on disc than in the cinema?

Wouldn't be the first time, Transformers 3's 3D left me underwhelmed (saw it at two completely different cinemas) but the Blu-ray kicks ass. Didn't catch Avengers in 3D, as one 2D cinema showing was quite enough. But I wants to see it again, to make sure that it's not as bad as I remember, so 3D will be the weapon of choice. IF that bloody briefcase actually gets released, that is...

the bloody spear tip that emerges from agent Coulson is missing now

Just finished watching my Italian BD and that scene is untouched as you clearly see the spear exit his body, either that shot is a fake or from an edited version of the film.

Cannot comment on the 3D but the 2D is amazing. The detail is just superb. I just finished watching it again all I can say is fantastic.

The Russian Blu Ray has the "missing Spear tip".

Does anyone know if the French and/or Italian BDs of the Avengers are region free? if so, would really like to import one to the US given that we've got 3.5 weeks to go b4 release date.
Yep they are region free but are missing a few extras that will be on the US release, namely...

Audio Commentary
Second Screen
Music Video
'Assembling the Ultimate Team'

My Italian steelbook has the bonus disc containing the 98 minute documentary though that is exclusive to Target in the US so it's not all bad smile.gif
post #229 of 470
So anyone see it at the theater this weekend and can tell us what was added post credits? I didn't see it at all at the theater so was there anything post credits originally?
Apparently there's nothing new in the reissue. The original U.S. release had a post-credits scene (which I assume is still in the reissue) of Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
the team eating in a shawarma restaurant, with no dialogue.
Cute, I guess, but I didn't think it was worth sitting through the credits for it.
Yeah I stayed back for that, I didn't see it in the theaters over here so I watched it on my copy. Definitely won't be waiting for the end credits.

Aww, I thought it was great. It's these types of moments I wish the movie had more of. ^_^

Seems like the German release is also censored, guess I got lucky with the Italian release but a bummer for those that wanted the Germany steelbook as it looked to be the best release if you wanted 3D/2D/Bonus BD and steelbook all in one package.

This is all rather odd
FWIW Best Buy has started offering a collectible case of its own as an in-store pre-order item (for a $7.50 deposit toward any Blu-ray version of the movie). I got one myself, and it isn't a genuine Steelbook--more like a custom design, like what Target had for the Iron Man 2 BD set.

As far as the movie goes: I saw the movie from beginning to end in theaters three times, two of them in 3D (including IMAX), and the coda was funny as hell to me. It's worth sticking around after the credits for it IMO, if only because it's so innately funny. As for the editing of that one scene: I should think it won't be edited in the US release. I see no reason why they'd want to tamper with it here. But that's just my hope.

Is the Spanish Blu-ray uncut?
Spanish release: Uncut, has all the main features + bonus BD

Italian release: Uncut, misses some of the bonus features but comes with the bonus BD

Australian release: Same as the Italian disc but doesn't come with the bonus BD

UK release: Single disc not clear if it will feature all the main extras

German release: 3 shots digitally erased but has all the goodies.

What versions are known for sure to be censored? If it's just the German version then I think we can blame the FSK. I never heard anyone mention censorship in the German theatrical version, but the FSK are tougher on video releases.

So you are saying the Spanish release has the audio commentary, music video and 'Assembling the Ultimate Team' feature? as this is the first I have heard of any release outside the US including the commentary and music video.
