Technical help needed if possible!

Hi guys,

Long, long time lurker first time poster (atleast I think) but I have a question that I can't find anywhere because of the age of this HTIB. My mom has an old panasonic sa-ht680 which I believe came out in 2005 as her music player for our outside patio. The problem with the unit just started and Ive tried everything even calling Panasonic with no avail. Basically what happens is when I play music through a CD and turn the volume up once it hits -82db (which is the lowest besides off) the music starts to blast incredibly loud. When I try turning it up all the way to 0db there is no variation of volume at all. Is this a hardware problem?

I've tried resetting it to factory settings, called Panasonic and made sure the speaker levels were adjusted to factory but its still stuck on one volume level. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks again

It sounds like the pot. That is connected to the volume control knob is worn out. When you go to min. Volume the stop is broken allowing it to go to max volume.
Just my guess I don't have any experience with that device.
