Wanting to spend maybe $250-300 on some fronts. I am using JBL's S-Center, and like the bright and zing-y ness of the JBL, and don't want something that would clash, so clarity at high volume would be what sound I would lean to. Suggestions? Thanks.
I had looked at the S38, but not the S36....I wasn't sure if the smaller size would be that much of a negative. JBL also currently produces a floorstander with dual 8's but I wasn't sure how well those compare.

If you can live with the shipping - the S38 seems to look good
on Ebay.
Timer matching your fronts is always ideal. Though I haven't heard the options listed, they seem like a good match to your center.
If you don't care about the timber matching as much, the Hsu HB-1s are great speakers and use them as my fronts. I use a JBL center and never really notice any differences with panning effects. I'd love to have the hsu center, but it won't fit in my entertainment center. Good luck!
