The Netgear NeoTV 550 will... and that's just about all it will do. Over here Amazon has it for $84.95.

Netgear is old rubbish. This will do it for $120, latest realtek 1186 tech, also supports 3D:

Posted a long review of it here on this site. Very impressive.

Hi Janieuk,

I would not discount the Neo so quickly. If you are concerned about HD audio, I suspect you want to play Blu-Rays. Although the Micca is good, it does not do Blu-Ray menus. I don't think anything else will give you the Blu-Ray support that the Neo can in that price range.

It is not without its bugs, and it doesn't do 3D, but I find it to be the best player I've had for music and Blu-Rays.

To OP, I think Mede8er's 450X2 would be in your price point. There's a Mede8er thread with good info about its capabilities.

Throwing out 3D as I or my projector have zero interest what would I gain by switching? My only goal is local streaming HD video and audio and I have had flawless 1080p MKV playback with HD audio... 40 movies with a variety of video and audio formats. Other than spending roughly 50% more...

haha did you read what he wanted he wanted to bit stream HD AUDIO last i saw boxee still aint fixed hd audio dropouts, And more then likely it will never be fixed so why recommend something that would not work for him?

the popbox v8 is in your range of price also. Almost all players will do what you are looking for so find the budget you like and also check subtitle support if its something you will use inside mkv

Agree, you don't want Boxee if you need frustration-free hd audio. +1 for PopBox v8, or Mede8er MED450X2 as I suggested earlier. If you don't care about GUI, the Pivos AIOS HD Media Center is also an option.

you can order the micca EP600 to uk from adorama.com

i order my EP950 from there.
total cost with customs was $206 dollares, takes 2 days to arrive by ups.

i advice the ep950 or the ep600 g2
currently is the most stable/perfect media player in 2D and 3D for blu ray format in full 1080p/24.

perfect in frames 23.98/24hz 29.98/30hz 59.98/60hz

worth every penny,pounds or euros

well i did a little more
i tested about 90 BD 2D + 4 BD 3D (about 15minutes each)
and not a single one show any signs of troubles.

fast forward, rewind, i really push hard with the player and didn't show any sign of weakness.

i also play some movies in other formats with acc, some flac music, everything i had around and could´t found any flaws.

The answer is simple... J River Media Center 17. http://www.jriver.com/index.html (software based), it is highly recommeded at HDtracks.com
https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=digital_store
30 day free trial, but you need a sound card or DAC from your pc to your amp. There is several audiophile audio cards that are available, but it depends on the connection to your amp. Majority of the highend cards have XLR connections, but a few have RCA (receiver).
J river just recently added SACD ISO as a format. Just go to their forum to get that release.

A standalone box will limit you, based on the file format.
