Grounding Question

I have a CM4228HD mounted on a stucco wall under my eves. I have it screwed right into the stucco wall. I'm in the process of adding a second story onto my house and will be moving it higher. I'm planning to mount it under the eves on the new 2nd story & screw it directly into the wood siding, with no antenna mount. The towers I'm aiming for allow me to mount it flat against the wall.

My contractor is a licensed electrician and has bought a spoil of ground wire, but he said he has never grounded an antenna before. I want to make sure he grounds it correctly. Can I use a coaxial cable grounding block? Or do I connect it somewhere on the antenna itself?

Have the electrician bring his copy of the NEC and tell him to follow it. Every electrician should have a copy.

Ok, I will tell him. Everything I've seen addresses grounding the mast, but since I won't have a mast or bracket, I wasn't sure how to attach the ground wire to the antenna.

Thanks. great link!

I came home to find that he ran the grounding wire all the way up to the main power ground in front of the house. But I think he only ran one wire for the antenna. I'll have to ask him about the ground for the coax that will run from the antenna to the TV.

Grounding the antenna boom to the main power ground is correct.
The coax should also be grounded to the same ground source, using a ground block where the coax enters the house.

Thanks!

It needs to be a seperate ground wire for the coax, right? The run is over 100 ft.

I have a 2nd antenna that will be on another wall, this one facing South, the 1st one will face East.
So I assume he'll need to run 2 ground wires for each? or can he combine any of the 4? Again, the run will be over 100 ft to the main ground. The two antennas will be about 25 ft apart.
