I am looking for picking up the tower that is 18.1 and 18.2 miles away. Also I am looking to mount about 15 feet in the air with a clear shot to the direction of the tower.

A simple UHF antenna should be all you need. A small UHF Yagi or 2-bay antenna should work fine for the Sty James translators. You don't need to receive that VHF signal since it's repeated on K38MY.

The UHF 43 signal is 3 Angels Broadcast Network which may or may not be of interest.

Would you be able to recommend an antenna? I'm not sure what a Yagi vs a 2-bay is.

Why not try a simple VHF/UHF indoor antenna?

He doesn't need a VHF antenna, everything is available with a UHF-only unit.

While he could probably get it with a UHF antenna since it appears to be close and strong enough. The second channel on that list is 12.

As far as an indoor antenna I have steel siding so that doesn't work so well. I have ordered the 2 bay that was linked earlier so I will be playing with that when it comes. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks
