You quoted that and replied with this? Really? Wow.

Yes. Of course. But building your own =/= buying from him.

Smoke - N- Mirrors .... , eh ?

I thought I would show you the quote you made .

Your not trying to state an opinion anymore with above comments . Ware I come from we call that an accusation. So , I merely pointed out you are wrong based on my factual experience vs. yours . Pretty simple.

BTW... Those gold letters under his avitar shows that he has supported avs as well not just the members so I see no relevance in weather advertising here is done or not . Whats your point ?

Honestly, physically building the computer is cake, setting up the software takes some time the first time around, but what really takes a while is organizing your media, the larger your collection the more time it will take.

Even the automated tools aren't as automated as you would expect, I can tell you that if you have a large collection... prepare to spend alot of time.

I've been doing what assasin has been doing locally for years... you couldn't pay me enough money to scrape meta data for others.

I agree. But chomps82's situation has some caveats.

Going to be building a new house and....Lots going on outside of this. Do I have the time? Buildling my house so will be spending most of my free time there. Also, my wife is due about 1 month after we move in?
-Wont have much time after the baby and new house to spend on it so want it to be ready to go.

With all the crazy that his life sounds like it will become, I think he should buy a boutique HTPC from someone local (like you provide for your locality) or someone like Assassin (who has documented his abilities on this forum for several years). That way he gets the quality HTPC he wants without the build/install time taking away from house/wife/baby. He can always build later. This time building a new house (wired with Cat6) and enjoying a new baby should be spent enjoying his new toy, not building and setting it up.
