Variably controlled speakers

Thread Starter
Hoping for some feedback or if someone has encountered or would be willing to advise. I'm working with electric GoKarts and we would like to enable the sound of a gas engine utilizing speakers theoretically wired to the "gas"pedal which would enable the electric current output increase the volume of the speakers. Would also like to have an on/off button to simulate starting of the car. We ate in an indoor environment and would really like to do this. It would also be nice but not sure how feasible to communicate with all karts in same system? Any direction would be appreciated!

Thanks!

i forget what it was called, but on one of those 'pimp my ride' type shows they wired up a device that does exactly what you want--played the sound of exhaust through the speaker system varying loudness and revs with the pedal position. you could switch between different car/engines/exhaust systems too. search around on the internet some more, it exists.
