Assassin -- Thanks, great tip! I'll try those settings. Did any HTPC-specific gotchas come up during setup? I'm connecting to an AMD Phenom HTPC with a Radeon 4670 vid card. (I only do DD 5.1 and DTS, so bitstreaming isn't an issue.)
Murphy -- Yep, I know not to use pillarbox or letterbox excessively, especially during the break-in period -- and ditto with fixed images on the screen. I'm kind of OCD about correct aspect ratio though, so I hope I'll later be able to watch my movies in their OAR, balanced with plenty of full-screen HD movies and television material? For the long haul, is it better to use black or grey bars, whether horizontal or vertical?
Most of my viewing is thru WMC/MediaBrowser, with ZoomPlayer as my external player. I make full use of both the MB and the ZP screensavers during pauses. I've had RPTV's for 12 years, and never experienced any burnin problems on those, so I'm optimistic.
