Anyway to monitor and alert HDD life, health?

Hi all,

I know there are a couple of softwares that can monitor your hard disks health etc. like hard disk sentinel.. etc. not sure how effective they work.
I have like 8tb of hard disks attached and soon i will be having raid in place.. but in the mean time, iwould like to have some monitoring in place that can tell me in advance if any of the HDD's failure can happen, Can monitor the health and status.
Whats the best option in terms for installing a software for me?

All the tools will do the same thing read the S.M.A.R.T info but even that wont tell you if one just fails. it will tell you if one is slowly dying.

Unfortunatly there isn't a way to predict when a HDD will die, sometimes it is a slow degradation and SMART functions will help, but it can happens suddenly too.
Only safe way is backup.
