You can set it up to output x sound format based on input and source sound format. I LOVE this.
But you can't set up channel levels and save it like with Aventage scene feature.
I want one where all levels are normal. Then another for night time bed time where all channels off / turned all the way down except center up. I relax listening to tv this way when I go to bed. When I wake up I have to set all channels back to normal, which for me is 0. Aventage scene feature lets you set this up with input etc and save it to a scene. Then I just push scene 1 for day and push scene 2 when I go to bed. Works great, but the advantage don't have the sound like sr7005 has. And no one here sells anything.
I must get from best buy only because that's where I have my no interest financing.
I think there are several receivers that have a "night" mode these days...basically it allows you to use your Tv speakers because it has an audio pass through mode
Again..something I would never use...just like the matrixed surround formats
But my understanding is for those that like to listen at lower levels at night as to not wake anyone up..love it
Sounds like you vale features over sound quality...and if you say the Marantz sounds better( I have never heard it)...but you dont like the feature set
You like the features of the Yamaha...but dont like the sound
You are in a pickle it seems
Maybe the Denon 4311?..its somewhat on clearance and it might be less than the Marantz 7005
As for looking for the no interest financing....I am not sure I would pay more just because
If I need financing I look for a competitive price along with the financing
I am very satisfied with the Yamaha A3000...but I use it in bedroom with bookshelf speakers
It replaced an Onkyo 875 that was a more dynamic powerful piece but I feel the Yamaha is both more musical and more detailed
If I were running towers I would have stuck with the Onkyo
