What do you think of this Fanless HTPC configuration?

Hello,
I would like to have your opinion about this configuration.
Maybe some of you already built something similar.

- Case: Streacom FC8
- Mother board: ASUS P8H67-I Deluxe Rev.3
- CPU: Intel i5-2500T
- RAM: 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Corsair
- System Drive: SSD OCZ Petrol 256Go Sata 6Gb/s 2.5"
- Blu-Ray/DVD burner: Sony BC-5600S
- Power supply: Streacom ST150W
- Windows 7 64bit

I tried to put links to help you finding those elements but, as I am a new comer I cannot post URLs...

What are your full intentions for this htpc ? Are you going to game with it also ? If not , I would like to make some observations .

That ssd is quite large for a htpc . I guess your not using any data hdds ?
An i3 cpu is plenty for most htpc . Now if you gamming then that is a different story . I guess if you were then you would have listed a discrete vid card and a stronger psu ... right ?

Have you had a chance to review Assassins htpc guides ? Man , you talk about getting all the info in one place for many build scenarios AND that part of the guides is free. Of course , I highly recommend getting the paid version to as it covers the more difficult aspects of setting up the software side of the htpc and really "dumbs it down" for people like me

What's the big deal about fanless? I have a fan in my dedicated HTPC and can't hear it during movie playback.

Agree with flocko. i3 or undervolted A6, smaller system SSD and green or laptop storage HDD, and 4GB ram is plenty.

When facing the front, the heatsink and heatpipe of this case is to the right side. The CPU socket of the ASUS P8H61-I, ASRock H67M-ITX, Zotac H67ITX, intel DQ67EP, DH61AG are all to the left side. So reaching over to the other side is a bit tough. Only the Foxconn H67S and H61S have CPU socket to the right.

I have all of the left side MBs and a HDPlex H3 case that has the heatsink/heatpipes to the left, which worked out perfectly.

The final setup was changed to an ASUS P8H61-I, i5-2400S and an intel 80GB SSD.
I tried this case with a 72W i3-540 and it ran at 70 degC. With a 65W Sandy Bridge, it ran at around 45degC.

I would use it for listening to music, watching video, surfing internet, skyping, some autocading, some Sketchuping, some photoshoping, some audio simulation softwares...
No gaming. I am a serious person

I would like to avoid having a traditional HDD in this system, that is why I prefer a relatively big one. I have to determine how I would use an even bigger data drive: via USB in a separated portable 3.5" , Networked (I think my router can do it but I never have tested it or eventually inside the box.

I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing...

When facing the back panel (with connectors) of the ASUS P8H67-I, the CPU is on the right.
And the FC8 case has the heat pipe going to the right side too.
So I don't see the incompatibility...

If you are facing the connectors (back side), since the heatsink is to the left on the FC8; the heatpipes going to the right side has to cross over SATA connectors etc. So it is not as clean of an installation as having heatsink/heatpipe on the right side.

The HDPlex uses 6 heatpipes is a plus. I looked at quite a few of these and finally settled on the HDPlex H3. The seller was quite helpful also.
