I am using a MacBook Pro Retina Display with OS X Mavericks as my player and it is able to work at 4k @ 30 & 24 FPS with the LG.
My problem is how do I down convert 4096 x 2304 Cineform to a 3840 x 2160 format?
Sorry to inform you that you bought the wrong version.
When you don't have a display or playback facility that can use the Cineform format, the Cineform version is unusable for you, unless you run it through a Transcoding process and render it
to a format and a crop you can display.
The 4K UHD - H264 3840 x 2160, 25Gb file would have been the right choice for you, or maybe even the 4K UHD - Prores 3840 x 2160, 120Gb (if you can playback ProRes).
