I have recently purchased a Pioneer VSX-1121-k AVR. I am pairing it with a Samsung LN-S4695D LCD TV. I am having two perplexing problems.
1. When I turn off the TV, the AVR goes into standy-by (shuts down). I have HDMI controls set to "OFF" in the VSX-1121-K. I am not able to find any information about HDMI controls for the Samsung TV. As it stands now I cannot listen the the radio, Pandora, internet radio, etc... unless the TV is turned on. Any advice would be appreciated.
2. The second problem: I have the VSX-1121-K setup as 5.1 plus Zone 2. I was very interested in the ability to have potentially different sources piping audio to different parts of my home. All audio options work fine. But I cannot hear my DirecTV satellite STB (HR21-200) on Zone 2. I figured that maybe it had to do with Surround Sound so I forced the AVR into Stereo mode. Still nothing on Zone 2. Again, any advice would be apprecieated.
I am less than a novice on all things AV - I could sure use some help from the experts on this forum.
