We watched the first two episodes and just LOVED it. It looked so good, the special effects were excellent, even the stuff on the suit looked real. Was really impressed. Good story, some great momments, especially that the kid is the old man from the future, etc. Really looking forward to seeing more.

Anyone else notice that the top and/or bottom of the screen is blurred at times (watching via DirecTV)? Seems a strange artistic choice if intentional.

Yes, was wondering what was going on, thought it was our cable or something.

It will indeed wink.gifbiggrin.gif

I think this was a well done show that deserves to be watched to the end....Is it perfect no, but its good sci-fi which is sadly missing from TV now.....

Granted. Hell time travelling Sci-fi shows always cause much discussion. This one however with Lber8 and such themes I find refereshing.

They use that (annoying) effect less and less as the season progresses- thank goodness!

Caught episodes 2 and 3 and I liked them both.

Episode 3 had one of my favorite lines from the show "just wait until the phone company IS the government". Shades of "The President's Analyst." wink.gif

Late to the party.

Have been watching the re-runs on SyFy Channel.
I think I have seen 3 episodes so far and have become hooked.
It's nice to find some serious original sci-fi programming that isn't idiotic.wink.gif

You can't watch the episodes but I use it to listen to the music of each episode smile.gif

Newcomers warning- don't look back at the previous pages here- many of us have already watched the full series when it aired live on Canadian TV, etc.. and have posted what would be major spoilers to ppl in the US who haven't see all the episodes yet.

How does this help newcomers? Newcomers would have to start on page 1 as that is what the site does automatically since that will be their first unread message. Someone should modify the first post of this thread and post the warning on there, that would really benefi more people that don't want to be spoiled.

Don't want spoilers? Stay off the internet. For example, my only exposure to Prometheus was the trailer that I watched once. Therefore I liked the movie and have had no epeen in my arse to hurt me.

They should notice the first post was made on 5/27/12 and it mentions the first episode airs tonight (5/27/12)...
It would be almost impossible to miss the 8+ month old posts that follow that are discussing the first and second episodes.

That is true, hopefully they do.

Also the thread title is about the Canadian series.

It certainly does state "Canadian" in the title.

We could ask ltownsend, who was the thread starter to post a big note in the first post for US viewers to start reading at Post No. "x" with "x" being when ever the show debuted on US television.

Or, make a new thread, but since both the Canadian and US airings are supposed to eventually air concurrently making a new thread seems a bit silly.

Agreed.

Watched the first two episodes last night. Was hooked after the first one-the lead actress has that quality that makes me care what happens to her. Could be how she looks in that skintight outfit...Didn't find it slow at all.

I've seen all three now and I'm warming up to it. My biggest complaint now is that Rachel Nichols, whose acting shortcomings I'm learning to accept, is very nice to look at but very hard to hear. She speaks very softly and kind of mumbles. Have to turn on CC often just to hear her dialog, usually in action scenes or when there's "Dramatic Music Overlay" (DMO) when she's speaking. Someday they'll invent "Intelligent Closed Captioning" (ICC) where you can select the biggest mumbler in the cast and just get CC whenever they speak. Maybe that's another futuristic gadget Alec will someday invent.

As to the tendency of some actors to mumble, I heard an interview with William H. Macy on "Fresh Air" the other day where he talks about how much he hates that and how unfair it is to the audience, and how he always tries to enunciate his lines clearly, even when he's playing a drunk as he does on his current Showtime series. Dang, I love that guy. smile.gif
