^^ This, I dont expet the chatter to stop, if you dont want to be spoiled unsubscribe or dont come in the thread wink.gif Im in the US, but really its unfair to ask not to talk about a show that has in its main thread title Canadian TV....I could see if this was a ScyFy thread THEN there would be a point. Maybe its time to make a seperate thread, one for SyFy and one for Showcase that way everyone can be happy

This would be the best solution. Messy having two threads, but I agree, telling the Canadian viewers to not discuss a show in a thread with the title Canadian Show, is just stupid biggrin.gif ...and rather arrogant.

OK, my bad...
Because this forum rarely deals with anything except U.S. TV, I didn't pay close attention to the title of the thread.

I'll start a new thread when SyFy starts showing S2.wink.gif

How does she go invisible when her head is not covered by her suit? Shouldn't her head be floating around and the body invisible?

The show thread has the word "Canada" in the title because that's where the show appeared first and quite some time passed between the Canadian and U.S. showings. In fact, it wasn't even known at the beginning that this show would ever be available on an American network.

This entire forum is dedicated to shows that run on U.S. television - not British, not Canadian, not Argentinian, not Zimbabwean. It is a vanishingly small percentage of Forum participants who will search it out from "alternative sources" a mere two months before it's American premiere. So, it's not really stupid to ask for a little restraint and the word "arrogant" appears to be aimed at the wrong group.

That said, two separate threads are an acceptable solution. Even us arrogant, procrastinating Americans can work with that.

Sucks SYFY did not premire it at the same time. Canucks get Continuum one day and Defiance the next. Then again they had Lost Girl a season before we did.

I'm guessing the suit creates an invisibility field around her...

But I would love if the suit fails and only the suit was invisible....if you know what I mean..

If it was on Showtime or HBO maybe biggrin.gif
Will be interesting to see how SyFy handles the naughty words like $hit, ass, etc... that were used a few times in the season two opener.

CS=ITU601
Maybe the suit got rid of the mole too- looks like it's really gone.

What about the mole under her left... Never mind, it's not HBO.

Hi im a new Continuum fan from Sweden and i just joined this site to chat with you guys about my new fav SF show.

I saw first season last week in Netflix, i couldnt keep watching i saw the season in two days. I was impressed by the complex story of the time travel, the gray area of who is right in the future. It might be like a crime drama at times but it has so much story line eps.

Reminds me of Season 2-Season 4 of Fringe focusing so much on the season story lines. Every ep of the two seasons so far is almost about Liber8,changing the future or not storyline.

First, welcome! Secondly, you've been watching the second season? Most of us won't see it until June, so be careful.

Thanks for the welcome.

I joined this forum to talk about current season with viewers of the Canadian tv show because most genre tv forums dont talk about Continuum because season 2 hasnt aired yet in US.

I will follow the rules of this topic if the other fans posting will be using spoiler tags or not for recent eps. I enjoy reading about what other fans think of the latest ep of the series.

In the ep of last season where he opened and found the message i think there were several other mails, message for Alec to read. The 2012 one i think was just the first, Alec in the future it seems is smart enough to give clear instructions to his younger self.

We will see in upcoming eps if Alec found more messages and will try to follow them or if there were only one cryptic message.

@ Jack Dunham

Since this thread was created for the Canadian broadcast before anybody knew if Continuum would air in the US, you can talk about the second season here, but you won't get a whole lot of feedback yet, since most of the people who post in this thread are waiting for the US airdate.

Judging by the way they did the flashback with Kiera, I don't think Alec can send messages back in time whenever he wants. It seemed like Alec implanted the message in Kiera's CMR in the future, and Kiera then took the message back with her when she went into the past. You may be right that future Alec will find other ways to send messages into the past, but I don't think he can use Kiera's CMR again, unless he implanted extra messages that have yet to activate.

Episode 2 was better story wise, although the chase scene dragged on for too long. At least they're dealing with the aftermath of the season 1 finale, rather than falling into more repetitive "Liber8 plot of the week" tripe.

I didnt mean Alec in the future can send messages back when he wants. I was wondering if he had already sent several messages along with the one we saw he sent in her CMR. If they will add that to the story or not later on.

Maybe old Alec just thinks one message is enough to direct his young self. To scare him into knowing he made the future worse, young Alec seems to not like hearing about becoming powerful rich man who made the world worse.

I hope to see clearer story for what the young Alec will do this season. Once he is free of Kellogg's plans.

I think if the writers need to move a story line along... Alec will suddenly find another message embedded/encrypted in the CMR dump.
Remember future Alec has the benefit of hindsight, so he may indeed have embedded additional messages to help his younger self at crucial junctures.

The real mystery in this show for me is why on earth does Rachel always have to wear that ****** old looking coat, that looks like she stole it from a homeless guy who was one foot shorter than her?

Pretty much every other female television detective/agent/whatever is better dressed then her.

It's refreshing she isn't stylish well dressed detective and fitting for the story . A cop from the future shouldn't know how dress better than this.

Maybe like my fav SF female lead in Olivia Dunham from Fringe Kiera prefers subdued professional look.

Maybe the bad coat covers up her super suit?

IDK but she lost something when she got rid of the little mole...

I don't think so. In the latest episode was a brief take with her sitting in the department without the coat just wearing a blouse imho.

Heh Fashion critic i like it !

What did you guys think of the latest ep? It felt slow compared the last weeks ep. Gang warfare not that interesting compared Liber8 when they had real leadership in Kagami.

I liked it- had some future scenes in it- and moved the plot along- Sonia has decided to no longer employ thugs to further her mission. The guy who plays Julian is just creepy!

Did everyone notice the little 'in-joke' when Alec asked Kellog why he was in the hospital? Kellog replied "just getting a mole removed!" biggrin.gif

I noticed the in joke afterwards when i thought about what Kellog said. Good one.

I liked that Sonia decided to act more like Kagami who was smart enough to know you must win the hearts, minds of the people with ideas, speeches something to stand for other than outright violence. Shame Travis is a simple criminal without Kagami's leadership. Will be interesting to see Travis or Sonia which is the more dangerous, the closest to changing the future, starting their so called revoluation. Hard time seeing Travis becoming a mob boss like figure controling the gangs will be as effective.

If Kagame was really such a genius, he didn't show it. This whole transition of power has been totally sloppy. You'd think he would have either given a formal announcement that Sonya would take his place or at least take Travis out himself to prevent his troops from splitting apart. Now Liber8 is a mess and unable to carry out its work. The shootout scene was also long and dull, just like the chase scene in the previous episode. I guess they're trying to raise the action level of the show, but it isn't really working.

I wonder if some of the writers have been watching Code Geass. It looks like someone created Refrain eyedrops in the future. rolleyes.gif

Well the whole prison break/time travel incident was setup by old Alec, IIRC he tasked old Julian (Thesus sp?) to pick and indoctrinate the Liber8 convicts that would go back to 2012- Julian chose Kagame as the group's leader then Kagame chose the soldiers. As I see it, yes Kagame was the figurehead for Liber8 in 2077- but not the brains behind the organization that sent them back to 2012- that would be old Julian and old Alec. Kagame in 2012 is basically another soldier- he took his orders from old Julian who takes orders from old Alec.
As far as Travis is concerned- he's a lose canon- Kagame knew this full well and ordered Sonia to take him out... unfortunately she failed because of his bio-upgrades. Now Liber8 is fractured...

Loved the inclusion of yet another BSG person. Bit slow of a episode but overall lots opened up in this.
Indeed, unless she loses it again, maybe a one episode thing..

Very clever "mole" work this episode.

Can't believe Betty's the mole.... what would be her motivation? Financial?
Liked the whole built-in therapist idea. Although it's a bit disconcerting that it is able to erase parts of your memory if it deems it necessary.

One thing, a technical detail- when Kira was in the bathroom speaking with the virtual therapist and Betty walked in- you could see the therapist in the mirror? If it's created by Kira's CMR implant (and it's not a holigram, because nobody else was able to see it the whole time it was active) how did it create a reflection in the mirror?
