Best pc budget pc for running plex or xbmc?

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I'm looking for the best bang for my buck. I wanted to get an affordable htpc that would run plex and play x.264 blu-ray rips without any problems. I would go with the mac mini, but I can't swallow the $600. Anything at Best Buy right now that would work for around $300?

Maybe just to elaborate a tiny bit .

You really should read through the guides in the stickies . There is a ton of free info and some really kick butt paid stuff to .

Just a bit of friendly advice . I mean this with the most positive intentions.

This is the htpc section of the avs forum . To ask an enthusiast group of folks what is the hot thing at B#$t B&* right now will most likely not garner a lot of help
