Take note Hollywood, this is how a conversion should look.
All done at home on my iMac with simple software.
If I can do this at my house, why can't Hollywood with their millions make better conversions?
"Take note Hollywood, this is how a conversion should look."
That looked like my TV's realtime conversion. And it was on a frame delay, which is the oldest and most improperly used trick in the realtime conversion book.
Take Clash of the Titans, multiply it by 10,000, and that's how bad this looked.
??? I don't have to do anything better. I never claimed that! I only have to prove that Hollywood's recent and even outdated efforts look better.
You boasted that your efforts are better than the multi-million dollar Hollywood conversions, so you've set yourself up. Actually your conversion is on par with realtime conversion- actually worse because they're in addition relying on a frame delay to enhance it.
Hollywood conversions have accurately modeled 3D depth maps that resemble the real-world 3D geometric shapes of all objects on screen. Your conversion, like realtime 2D-3D conversion, just randomly pops blobs in and out based on contrast and movement. Background pops out in front of the foreground often, because you aren't actually controlling it in an artistic way, but rather letting a computer go to town randomly distorting things.
Plus the foreground objects in your conversion look like smooth lumps attached to the background, when they should look like an object occluding and detached from the background.
After your claims I was expecting something that rivaled this in terms of strength (not necessarily polished around the edges, but superior to Hollywood in terms of realistic sense of depth)
LOL cake, calm down! The claim was more of a joke! Of course I know I or any person at home couldn't make a better conversion than Hollywood with their millions!
Though Clash of the Titans was crap and I must disagree that my simple home conversion looks better. Clash mine as well be 2D, my TV can do a better real time conversion than they did.
The videos you posted were done by "Another World" a 2D-3D professional conversion company. Not by the Youtube poster or an individual. They are a company hoping to get a theatrical 3D release one day.

Well, you waited until your third post to clear it up, it should have been clear in the first place. Thankyou for clearing it up though.

Clash at least gets the foreground to background elements right 99% of the time and is in sync.

My point was, if you're going to bring up what Hollywood could do better, they could learn a thing from those clips.
If you want to measure your efforts with another individual, check out this Carnival of Souls conversion project, but it won't teach Hollywood anything:
In terms of accuracy and overall enjoyment I'd rate the conversions out of 10:
Your TF clip: 1
Carnival of Souls: 2
Clash of the Titans: 4
Another World's "Tarzan"/JP/Matrix: 5
Avengers: 7
Titanic: 8
