USB In-Wall extender is BACKWARDS - Help!

Hello,

I did a basement remodel last year, and took the opportunity to run lots of wiring in the walls to a central closet. For the most part its all working great. The only problem, is that this weekend I broke down and bought an xbox Kinect, and when I plugged it into the in-wall USB extension, it didn't work. Upon examination, I realized I put the upstream sIde at the wrong end. Is there any way to salvage this screw up?

Thanks,

Steve

I've never used a USB extender, but would this work?

If you post the make/model of the extender device, might be helpful.

If you have an extra category cable, you might be able to use that.

The part is the 32 foot active USB repeater from monoprice. Sorry, but I can put the URL in here.

It would have worked if I would have put it with the ends at the right places, but I put the 'big' end in my closet instead of the wall jack.
