It is odd Microsoft did not make a bigger deal out of this. This is something that would make me consider getting Amazon Prime.

Edit: Looks like they created a trailer for the new app.

That video was annoying and I couldn't sit through more than a few seconds. But the best thing about this, I don't know if it was in the vid, is the implementation of queues. Amazon just added it to their service. Haven't tried it yet, just read about it on engadget. I've been a prime member since before they added the videos, they're just a bonus for me. I'll be using it a lot more with the queue, though.

I was excited about Amazon Instant video as well, until I looked at what they have to offer.
There's a lot of overlap with Netflix, which I already have.

But they do have rentals which Netflix does not have! They are very inexpensive!

Expensive? Amazon rentals are mostly between $2 - $4, stream well, and the HD rentals look and sound pretty good on my Roku.

I've had good experiences finding a particular movie I want to watch on Amazon Instant, and at the price I used to pay at Blockbuster to rent a tape or DVD. I think it's a great service.

My apologies azmark! I've been misreading things a lot lately. Might need to get my glasses prescription checked. redface.gif

No problem. We had been renting from Cox on the dvr ever since the nearby Blockbuster closed down. Cox was charging 5-6 bucks per movie. So I was thrilled to see Amazon come to the Xbox. It will save us at least a few bucks a month, and I think we'll be giving up the Netflix sub shortly as well.
