Very nice thx ! biggrin.gif

I'll get them all if that's possible, whatever's available now.. I've always wanted demo discs, especially since Blu-ray came out, these look PERFECT cool.gif

You really want me to get on this asap eh wink.gif

That's good, I need a good push sometimes, especially with something I'm uncomfortable with somewhat... tongue.gif

Can't wait to get home later tonight and try this !

How long does it take to download all of one of them ?? I have 'regular' (not the fastest, not the slowest package offered, im in the middle range) cable Internet.. Should I only download 1 at once or I can do multiple ? Bit torrent: all the same? Utorrent, bit torrent, something else.. does it matter? I did see that utorrent was recommended in a recent post by another member..

Many thx smile.gif

uTorrent is a subset of Bit Torrent; smaller, faster, easier to use. Should be more than adequate for your needs.

Overall download speed depends on the number of "seeders," people who are making the file available to share. Since Steve's disc has been out for a very long time, there are probably very few seeders. Since I gave you the link, I figured I'd get back on board, so I'm downloading/uploading it as well as Leo's recent offerings for volume 2 (for which I am a contributor, so I hope you especially like the Music section).

Leo's volume 1 should be easy to get; if not, go on that board and ask for help. It probably pays (unless you don't have a BD50 and are planning to burn each section to a BD9) to just download the whole of volume one, which will take several days. Yes, days. Steve's, too, since it was only available as one download.

Get cracking!

Michael

Thx so much, I will most def try this later tonight. I'm planning in putting these files in M2TS format on my 4TB USB hard drive instead of burning to a BD. Although I might burn it as well, and when I do I can buy a BD 50 to burn it on I guess, would be first time I burn a BD but done lots of CDs over the years wink.gif

Now if I can only get home and start this !! biggrin.gif

Then I HIGHLY recommend re-writables. I've gotten these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290656909188?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Depending on your player, you may be able to put an AVCHD folder on your USB drive and play the files with full menus.

Good luck.

Thx very much Michael ! I'm sending you a quick pm..

I have the 4TB USB drive hooked up to an Oppo 103.

Boom ! Downloading that file right now in u torrent, ETA currently varies between 1.5 to over 2 weeks... eek.gif

EDIT: down to 5 days now so it keeps improving along biggrin.gif
post #399 of 852

As more of us hook up (I'm there now, too), it will get better. I'm going to experiment, since I have the disc, with copying the files from the disc over the files from the torrent. Worse that happens is that I'm set back to 2 weeks! wink.gif

Yeah absolutely its all good, @ 4% now gonna let this thing run for a while obviously....

Good luck with that, hopefully nothing bad does happen and you're not set back two weeks ! mad.gif

I do have one question, I used the link that you found and provided earlier and that I copied above. The files that are downloading right now in u torrent are all called "Home Theater Demonstration Bluray v2.0". So this is ScubaSteves disc right? Is there somewhere where there's a list of the clips available on this disc?

Looking forward to watching it once it's all said and done biggrin.gif

Fortunately, it worked, once I deleted the torrent file and reloaded it. So I went from 13% to 99.9%. Seeding now.

biggrin.gif

So, Jindrak, working on volume 2?

wink.gif

UMMM I don't know if this is related to what you did or not... but I'm assuming it is given the timing of it.. my download speed on Steve's 46GB file has increased 5X in the past couple hours compared to when I started it overnight and checked it again this morning. That's the file you reloaded right.. the one (Steve's disc) from the link you provided me in an earlier post from yesterday?

Wow amazing, I'll be watching this thing in no time and then will start downloading the other ones ( Jindrak, Superleo 1 and 2 - all sections, looking forward to hearing your music section, I'm downloading that one next..) biggrin.gifcool.gif

THANK YOU smile.gif

Yup. Outstanding.

I wouldn't be surprised if others are joining in, too.

Which is, after all, the whole point.

Ok, let me see if I understand this so bare with me. In the first folder AUXDATA, right click open and I deleted multiAVCHD.mpf and sound.bdmv file with 0 KB ... which left me with another AUXDATA folder. I right click this and it show multiAVCHD.mpf 182 KB and sound.bdmv 112 KB files. I cut these two files and placed them into the first AUXDATA folder (highlight bold). Then delete the two files I just cut from.

If the above is correct, then do the same with BACKUP, BDMV, CLIPINF, META, PLAYLIST and STREAM.

Sorry to bump this, can someone please answer if I understand step #2 correctly.

Man that's you biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I'm on the laptop next to PC and the thing is skyrocketing right now. Started 12 hours ago and I'm at 26% right now, so I'm getting there.. It sure helps that its been much faster since this morning and now it's like supersonic, I luv it cool.gif

Really appreciate this, much respect biggrin.gif

I just finish download, good work

i was seeding already 5gb, when i follow the instructions to erase some files 0kb, but that will corrupt the file to upload confused.gif
post #411 of 852

Right. If you're seeding (as you should be wink.gif), you want to make a COPY of the downloads to manipulate. Which is a good practice, generally.

Good luck. Just follow the directions carefully (also a good practice, generally biggrin.gif).

I posted this in the Home Theater Demo Disc - Version 2.0 thread also...

I'm currently 60% done downloading the 46GB torrent, this is the first time I've downloaded a torrent and have absolutely no experience at all with the whole process that needs to be completed afterwards to get the files ready. I noticed that post #1 (in the Home Theater Demo Disc - Version 2.0 thread) has been deleted, and I assume that that's where the detailed instructions on what to do once the torrent is completed. Would anyone have, or know where I could get those detailed instructions??

As of now, when u torrent says that the file has been 100% downloaded,, I would have absolutely no clue as to what to do from that point on. eek.gifconfused.gif

Hopefully someone here can chime in and provide some direction, thx ! smile.gif

I responded there. Nothing really that different. All of these discs (mine, leo's and jindraks) work off of the BDMV standard. Leo's disc comes pre-packaged into a .rar files which means it has to be "unpacked" to get to the BDMV folders. Once you have the folders you can then burn it to a blank optical disc or transfer the files to a USB/HDD stick for direct playback if you have a player that will do so.

Some disc may not be in BDMV folders but rather a single .iso file. This is essentially the same thing. The .iso just packages the BDMV folder into a single file rather than multiple files and folders. Both .iso and raw BDMV folders can be burned to disc or played back from most players via a USB/HDD stick. Some players might require one over the other (player A might only do raw folders whereas player B only reads iso files). You can use IMGBurn to burn to optical disc, create an .iso from raw folders, or to create raw folders from an .iso.

I responded in your thread as well in order to keep this one on topic.. smile.gif

So how about using the PS3 to play back the files from a USB drive? Can it be done?

Not to my knowledge. The PS3 refuses to play the .m2ts files even though it will play the burned ISO just fine. IMHO the best way to play the files from a USB drive is with XBMC, but for now that pretty much requires a laptop, PC or HTPC. I'm patiently waiting for an Android box natively supported by XBMC biggrin.gif

VLC and Splash Pro I am using two of these, not sure if it's going work or not. but i am doing a torrent at the moment.
