Carada Classic Cinema White or Brilliant White for W6000?

I'd like to get some recommendations from you guys on screen type. I think I've decided to go with Carada. My room is about 13' long and the screen size is going to be either 88" or 84", not sure on that yet. I don't know whether to get the Brilliant White screen or the Classic Cinema White screen. The room can be completely dark as there's only one window. I've read that the Brilliant White screen isn't recommended for bright projectors like the W6000, but then I've read that if you like the plasma like picture (like I do), then the Brilliant White will do well. Any recommendations on which screen I should go with for my room size and screen size? Thanks!

I have an 80" CCW with a JVC X3 at about a 13' throw in a dark room. So it sounds similar to what you have planned. I wanted a color neutral screen with no possibility for sparkles or hot spots. Also, I didn't want to detract from the black level performance the JVC gives me. The CCW fits the bill. I never considered anything other than an untreated white screen. When I'm watching a movie where it goes from dark to bright, it's quite bright. I can't imagine needing more brightness. I'd find even more brightness uncomfortable.

I've seen many posts where the BW and CCW are being compared. They are very, very similar from what I've read. If you want to assure great blacks get the CCW. If you really like the brightness (at the expense of maybe a little less black) get the BW.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't think about losing some black level by going brighter. I'm thinking I'll go with the CCW, I think I'll get it bright enough with the W6000 on the CCW screen and keep some blacks while I'm at it.

I started with a white 92" mated to my W6000 and moved up to white 106" to try to tame the brightness in a dark room on economy setting with a 15' throw. This is one bright projector even @ mid-range on cinema setting!
Settled on a 92" grey screen in order to keep my eyeballs from melting (OK ,slight exaggeration) and to retain proper black levels. Granted , it's still a fairly new bulb, but unless you severely restrict the auto-iris or use neutral density filters you may find it excessively bright in a dark room. Also, I had returned a Mits.4000 for being too dim under same conditions.
I find that the grey even tends to reject any ambient light better in a well-lit room than did the white.YMMV-Steve

Definitely something to think about. Thanks.

Yea, unless you are wanting to do a lot of daytime viewing with ambient light, I'd go with a 1.0 gain or less screen in the sub 100" range. It'll still be very bright with the W6000.
