Need help deciding which lg 3DTV to get

I think your best bet is to try them out in the shop. All 3D has its disadvantages. Active systems give headaches from flicker. Passive systems give less than satisfactory quality of picture. The reality is this technology was released before it was ready and it's still not satisfactory.

So few people have 3D It's difficult to find a body of people who have bought the sets you mention.

I have a 42lm6200. The 3d is pretty good, I find that cgi/cartoon type stuff is the easiest to watch. Of you are coming from a plasma you will be disappointed with the dtv performance of this set (I know i am) That said all of the hd material I have played on it looks great. My suggestion would be to get the lm6200 as the newer 3d software is built in (think you can update the older ones though from 2011) Some good info in this link, I suggest checking out the lg website so that you can compare the different features as the cheaper (6200) set may be fine for you if you don't need wireless, fancy frame etc. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.p...&id=1333359799

From what i read many times in 3d the 2012 lg tv the scan lines have been reduced now on my lm8600 i have never seen them...While i love the Passive 3d my set turned out a lemon halos all over flashlighting, and have seen a line shoot across my screen a few times now and the remote is annoying IMO...Alot of LG owners have returned the TV's left and right trying to get a good set others are reporting tv random reboots...I myself trying es7500 hoping to have better luck...Good luck to you on your search IMO i would skip buying a tv ATM seems like 2012 isnt so good for tv's

I had the 55LM7600 for nearly a month it never reboot, restart or power cycled. My first 55LM8600 did it quite often my second brand new one did it once already. If it does it again I might be forced to get a active 3D Samsung set.

So true, so true. And the theaters showing 3d aren't getting proper foots lambert on screen causing problems for 3d all around.

Which Sony model?

The 55LM7600 never rebooted on me. I heard the samsung es7500/8000 there was no issues with ghosting/flickering etc. I tried it at best buy and I don't remember it bother me.

are you talking about the soap opera effect otherwise known as tru motion? you can turn off tru motion.

I have an LM7600 and I am really surprised how well it stacks up to our ES7100 sammy. At one point we questioned why we didn't buy two LG's instead.

It seems that there are some TV's that are 'problematic' within every product line. My 65lm6200 has been great thus far, and the 3d picture has been outstanding....I'd have to say perfect...no lines, no halos, no headaches. I'm not sure how it could be better....so hopefully it will last until the overall level of TV tech has improved again.
