With this guy about to hit in 60 days or so.. What's the word on the updates over the AV7005?
I understand that the rep's have been out showing the info to a select group of dealers. So is there an NDA out there or can we get some information?
Last i heard

speculation that it has the same Audyssey as the current one and the upgrade over this one will have X32. Confirmed no XT32, just the same as the AV7005.
Another nice perk is that the AV7701 has Apple AirPlay. This hot little feature allows users to stream music from any networked iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Mac or PC, right to the preamp. That includes all of the music you've got stored in iTunes, as well as streaming services like Pandora and Spotlify. If you don't have an iOS device or want to get another portable into the mix, you can pair the AV7701 with a Bluetooth device and the optional RX101 Bluetooth adapter .
Marantz has also designed the AV7701 to be quite the AV hub, with seven HDMI inputs, three HDMI outputs, a front-panel USB port and two sets of main audio outputs, including 7.2-channel unbalanced (RCA) jacks and 7.2-channel balanced (XLR) outputs.
There's also a full suite of Audyssey technologies, including the MultEQ XT automatic room acoustic correction, Dynamic Volume, Dynamic EQ, and DSX processing. Other features include Marantz M-DAX audio processing, DLNA 1.5 support, an aluminum front panel, and an illuminated front porthole display. This preamp also works with the newly designed Marantz Remote App, which is available as a free download for iOS and Android devices.
Marantz will be shipping the AV7701 this month Sept 2012, with an MSRP of $1699.
Yeah, it looks really cool, but from what i understand the receiver SR7007 version does NOT have XT32... it remains to be seen if the AV7007 version without the amps have it... although the 8007 may have XT32 more than likeley along with DSD etc.. that would be worthe getting as the 8003 is long in the tooth!!
The 7007 will likely be a clone of the Denon 3313 so just check out the features of it to see what the 7007 will have. Marantz usually adds 7.1 channel analog inputs but that's about it. I haven't heard anything about an 8007 but if there is one it will probably be based off the Denon 4520 which the feature list is not out for yet.
All my info is from what little I have been told. I did hear we are looking at around 60 days to release. Not sure how accurate that is. It would be interesting if we did get 3 HDMI ports out.
If the SR7007 is based on the 3313 it looks like the 3313 would be the better buy. The MSRP of the SR7007 is listed as $1799 and the 3313 is $1199. Looking at the rear panel of the SR7007 it looks like the only difference is that there is a 7.1 analog input which the 3313 does not have. So unless the SR7007 has some added features and or better components (DACs, analog stage etc.) the SR7007 seems a little over priced IMO. Also with both the SR7007 and the 3313 not having XT32 that gives the Onkyo 818 an advantage for those looking for XT32 in an affordable AVR.

Of course if the 7007 has HDAM, Discrete circuits and copper boards etc it might sound a little better than the 3312 as a preamp though.....just my .02... but at that point just spend the extra $$ on the 8007 with all the other goodies...

Just want to confirm, the AV7007 will have XT32? A local rep was under the impression only the 8007 would. The 7007 would be my choice if that is true!
Is there a link showing the specs of the AV7007? Where did you see that the AV7007 will have dual sub control (EQ?)? Thats great if the AV7007 does have XT32 and SubEQ. I find it interesting that the SR7007 will not have XT32 though.
Not so fast. Dual sub outputs do not necessarily indicate MultEQ XT32. Even dual sub EQ is no guarantee of MultEQ XT32, as Sub EQ HT is an independent technology.
The SR7007 has two sub outputs labeled SW1 and SW2. I would assume the AV7007 will be the same. Just because there are two sub outputs does not mean that the AV7007 will have XT32 or SubEQ. I really do not think the AV7007 will have XT32 with SubEQ as the SR7007 does not. It would seem odd if Marantz would do that. If I recall correctly the SR7005 and the AV7005 are indentical other than the AV7005 having balanced outputs.

Give them a call and explain that to D&M holdings. Your explaination works for me.
Why would anyone have to call D&M Holdings? You're the one that posted the AV7007 will have XT32. If the specs of the AV7007 have not been released and your dealer friend has "limited" information why would you think the AV7007 has XT32?
Again what model Marantz are you referring to? No offense but your posts have mostly alluded to second hand information that might not be the least bit accurate.
I would really like to know the real specs as well as I'm close to purchasing a 4311. I guess I'll have to be a bit more patient and wait and see exactly what these will have...
