Distribution Hardware Recommendations

I am going to be purchasing my first home soon. The home is older and was completely remodeled, however the seller apparently forgot in this day in age most people use Ethernet and coax outlets for TV and computers, etc. They did not equip the house with any of this cabling after the remodel.

I am purchasing a rack mount shelf that I am going to install my network switch and other equipment, and I'd like to centralize the ethernet and coaxial distribution throughout the home. I'm only looking at maybe 3-4 rooms at most with a coax outlet in the room. I saw some people have used the CablesToGo keystone panel, which I'm fine with. My concern is how can I be sure the signal would be strong enough without getting some sort of distribution amplifier? Ideally I'd like to have an all in one unit or rack-mountable units for the distribution and amplifier. However, I'm not sure what exactly I need. I will be going with DirecTV or Comcast for television, and most likely Comcast for my ISP. I've looked at some of the Blonder Tongue equipment, but not sure if that is overkill. Since I'm a first time home buyer, cost-effective options are the most appealing.

What is the best type of setup to do the coax distribution with? Again, its a small home and I will not have many TVs, but I want to wire everything up nicely.

Thanks!

This will depend on the provider - best to let them figure this out for you. Keystone panel for 3-4 coax runs is really overkill. Just terminate the coax lines and provide some wall mount space (chunk of plywood, painted if desired) to mount the splitter/amp/etc.

That's why you just provide the installer with terminated connections - they'll install the correct gear. For D* these days, it's very likely just a simple splitter. CATV for 3-4 outlets is likely the same.

Way overkill. Broadcast grade isn't needed. A <$5 splitter will probably be the correct piece, but don't even spend that - the installer will do it.
