A single PA 150 will still have more output above 30 hz and the room is too big for the Energies to be effective in their lower range.

The PA-150 will have much more output than the PSW505. Also, Sound Distributors had a coupon code for $299 shipped on the PA-150 couple of weeks ago. Might still be good. I don't think you can beat it at that price.

This is what Josh Ricci/Audioholics had to say about the PA-150:

"Looking at the burst output , this unit offers impressive output capabilities at 40Hz and higher. Useful output in room would probaby be about 25Hz but the unit offers most of its capabilities at 30Hz and above. This is a great choice for loud music playback if you have a large space and a limited budget but this subwoofer could not provide realistic home theater bass reproduction in a 4,000 cubic foot room.

The PA-150 is your best bet unless you want to raise your budget, because of the size of your room. There are many AVS members who have been very happy with the PA-150.

Is it worth it to spend more money to get a sub that digs deeper for movie watching? Sure. But at the price point you are working with I would go with the PA-150.

well as an fyi i have not bought the reciever yet, i was looking at the yamaha rx-671 for the $400, my main interest in this sub is the zone 2 functionality and the ability to use an app to control it as well as stream music through bluetooth. I do not care that it is 7/1 as i will only ever have 5.1. SHould i be looking at a different model reciever that is left to maybe throw the extra cash the subs way or just get the pa150?

Despite some reservations about the PA-150 you can't fill your space for less than the cost of the PA-150. Go to this site:

http://www.sounddistributors.com/buy...at_name=Search

Add the PA-150 to your cart then enter the code subsp and you can save about $150. The coupon code subsp will bring the price down to $300.xx

Shipping appears to be included. No sales tax outside Nevada.
