ReplayTV 5040 - Any way to stream shows (maybe via DLNA) to my Sony SMP-NX20?

I have a ReplayTV which I use daily. My Sony SMP-NX20 network player (located in a different part of the house) is very awesome, since I can stream Hulu, Netflix, Youtube, and videos from my windows 7 PC via Mezzmo, a DLNA media server application.

Is there any sever software that is DLNA compliant that can stream shows from my ReplayTV to Sony SMP-NX20?

Thank you!

My Media Streamers (Seagate FAT+ and Patriot Box Office) can play native ReplayTV MPGs right off of my DVArchive server.

Did you try copying a ReplayTV MPG to the Mezzmo subdirectory?

I guarantee that you won't be able to play the shows from the ReplayTV directly - you'll need DVArchive or WiRNS for that - and then you'll only be able to play them on the PC with DVArchive or WiRNS installed. But, once you download them to the PC's HDD with DVArchive or WiRNS, the possibilities increase.

I just picked up a Refurished Sony BDP-S280 BD/DVD Player to 'Experiment' with. [I'm creating AVCHD DVDs with my new Hauppauge PVR-1212.] When I get a 'Round Tuit', I'll let you know what I discover...

Mezzmo doesn't even see my ReplayTV at all. It's strange because my XBMC PC can see the ReplayTV (the path I chose to point to was rtv:/192.168.0.47) and while it sees the MPG's, it hangs when I try to play them

I don't know of server software that will directly stream the shows off the ReplayTV and then serve them to other devices via DLNA.

I have shows taken off the ReplayTV (via DVArchive and/or WiRNS) that sit on my server; with that, I can serve them directly to my Sony TV via DLNA (using the free DLNA server Serviio). I just include the DVArchive directories in the paths that are served.

While that works, I find the experience of watching content via the Sony DLNA client painful. Forward/backward skip is terrible at best. I far prefer using the ReplayTV for viewing -- even with the tradeoff of resolution. With anything other than my ReplayTVs, I miss the 30-sec forward and 15-sec back buttons.

I still find myself transcoding many shows and movies down to MPEG2 and watching them via the ReplayTV via WiRNS.

Me too, so I was very happy to find that I do get that using EyeTV as my other DVR.

Ok, so no streaming to my Sony Media player directly from my RTV. I usually just connect the RTV HDd to my laptop via a USB to IDE dock (one day, I want to mod my RTV HDD with a mobile ra k somehow so I dont have to keep opening my RTV) and use the Extract GUI since transfering shows to my PC via ethernet is painfully slow. When I used an Xbox1, watching the RTV MPEGs was nice.
