Synology Refurbs-- Good Idea?

Hi all

Looking to buy a synology nas and On their refurb site they have some great prices on refurb nases. They only have a 90 day warranty and that worries me a bit. They say they are tested but what does that mean? I would be able to afford a 4 bay nas or even a 211+. What do you think. Are they reliable?

The 90 day warranty says it all. Apple refurbs are basically as new. For a NAS from Synology I would just get a new one with a 2 or 3 year warranty.

I'd say it depends on the price and cost of repair. If you can buy two refurbs for the price of one new, it may be worth it. Plus if the parts that break are relatively easy to replace it might not be a bad deal.
