Selectively place USB device into sleep mode?

Got a weird one.

I'm running gateway sx2840-01 i3 desktop as my HTPC. Its a small form factor box that doesn't have much cooling capabilities. My ceton tuner is running a bit hot (over 65C) and driver is complaining plus every time I open a ticket i get "improve your cooling answer". Since i can't really install any case fans inside I ordered ARCTIC Portable USB-Fan which connects via usb port and i can shape it to directly cool over ceton tuner through perforations of my case. It does work and I managed to bring down my temps to below 58C

Here is the problem. I sleep my HTPC and it works pretty well. I also use my RC-6 IR receiver and Harmony one to wake up my HTPC which also works very well. Problem is when I sleep my computer the fan still turns as I enabled USB devices to wake up my computer which allows my IR remote to work and also forces fan to work as well

Any way around this issue?

Thanks

Alex

Go to Control Panel... then Power Options. Whatever power plan your using go to change plan settings. Now go to change advance power settings. Go down to USB settings click on it and you will see USB selective suspend settings....enable it. It should now power down your fan.
