It's the only browser that ever crashes on me.

It used to be my #1. But that was two years ago.

Today- IE is much improved and firfox is my favorite.

Google chrome for the win.. (I mean loss!)

I'm in the opposite camp. I've been using Firefox since it was called Phoenix. About 4 months ago, Is switched to Chrome due to memory leaks in Firefox (I would leave it open for a day and it would be using 2.5GB of RAM and unresponsive). Chrome doesn't have these issues for me.
Different strokes for different folks

Both firefox and IE are currently faster in the most recent updated version as tested on Tom's hardware.

They all appear about the same to me.. but for some reason only chrome crashes with multiple tabs open.

I only use Chrome now. I used to use Firefox exclusively, then tried them both for a while, now it's been over a year since I've used Firefox at all.

Like many of the others, I've been a Firefox user for quite some time, but I would say that I mostly use Chrome these days; (still use both daily.) At work I often have over 20 tabs going and rarely ever have crashing issues.

Speeds 'seem' fairly relative atm, providing that you aren't loading any of the browsers down with toolbars, and/or too many memory-hog extensions/add-ons.

In Windows both can quickly become profile hogs with their default installations; my current favorite is Chrome's 'Alternate installer for all user accounts' which keeps the majority of Chrome's data/cache out of my AppData, and into the Program Files area.

But enough crashes from chrome reminds me to switch.

It's the only software in my system that crashes.

I think my overclock intel turbo boost gives it guys or something.

Ie and Firefox are very stable

Sounds like you have something else going on in your system. I exclusively use chrome on every PC I use, and never have problems with it crashing. In fact, it's a ton more robust then firefox or IE since each tab and plugin is it's own process. If something on a tab crashes, your whole browser doesn't crash, just that tab or plugin.

I used be be a loyal firefox user for many years. made the switch in the past year and never looked back!

I am also an exclusive Chrome user. I find the text too fuzzy under IE. Never tried Firefox because I'm extremely happy with Chrome.

You mean the constant Flash crashing? Yes I wish they would fix it, I just deal with it. Firefox is unwieldy and IE is okay, I have all three.

Streaming is still smoother in Chrome (Flash).

Less and less now. I need to get the latest version of Second Run TV installed to see if I can get Speed2 to display inside the interface. Problem is unlike the video add-ons created by the community for XBMC web sites that have streaming default to full screen. In SCTV you have to maneuver the pointer to click full screen...

Waiting for somebody to hopefully add Speed2 to Video Add-ons.

Unless another service comes online, I doubt I'll use a browser.

*Procrastinating on putting in the motherboard on one of the few days I'm not recording anything...

Yep, I have been using Chrome for about 3 years ago, before that Firefox, before that Mozilla. I simply HATE Internet Exploder. Probably from how BAD it was when it first came out, long memory I guess. I have never had Chrome crash, it is the most stable browser I think I have ever used. It does have a few things it doesnt play, but they are few and far between. It also great from a security standpoint, it doesnt let a lot of Malware get loose in your system. We use it at work as much as possible for this reason.
On the HTPC, I only use IE, simply because I use it so seldom. Mainly for Netflix, when the WMC Netflix App isnt working, which is pretty often.

Yah, true. But we have no tablets and the smartphones we own have screens that aren't really large enough for comfortable browsing.

But you're right, times continue to change, so maybe time to get a cheapo tablet and/or a replacement smartphone w/ a larger, better screen.

FWIW, Chrome goes out to lunch quite often on this desktop PC, but this system has three monitors, and usually two Chrome windows with many tabs open in each. My wife (a web site developer) usually comments that I have way to many sessions open.

One of the other quirks of this system (Win 7 X86 Pro) is that the desktop switches to basic because it claims I've run out of video memory (or something similar).

on my desktop the most... faster the PC more prone chrome to crashing.

A slow PC it works ok.

I had when I get that error.

Nothing else crashes on my desktop. It's a fresh install and everything is working great.

It's chrome.

I tried reinstalling it. But still same.

I just learned to use firefox instead. It's more stable for me.

I was hooked on chrome for a couple years so the switch took adjustment.

I did not switch because I wanted to switch. It was not a choice.

I've used Firefox when I get tired of Chrome crashing. You need IE because Windows Update will not work with the other browsers.

Nice thing about Chrome is you can log in anywhere because all your links are kept in the cloud. If your paranoid or using a person's computer with some decent computer skills, just run Chrome on a flash drive, doesn't leave anything behind.

Firefox has backup features which is nice. All the plug-in downloading its clumsy though.

I just use my own pc for personal use. I could care less if people view my history... lol.

It's mostly AVS, and related sites-- some Motocross sites and some NFL sites. A little Newegg.. That's about it. haha.

I won't use someone else PC. They are always too slow!

Personally. I love Chrome. It does not crash on me, I love the ability to have the same bookmarks/history/cookies on all my PCs (yeah, I know Firefox offers the same type of thing) and I never have problems with it. The only time I use IE is for specific work related web apps that only work with IE, and the only time I use Firefox is when I'm on my Lapdock. Can't wait for my Droid 4 to get ICS so that I can be running Webtop 3.0 which uses Chrome instead of Firefox.

My family does (well live TV and movies). Definitely not a waste. It's allowed us to save at least $1,500 per year in cable TV bills (alas, the "savings" have been spent to feed my hardware addiction ).

I do. One of the reasons I built an HTPC was to watch Hulu if I missed a program. I know Hulu has a desktop version but I prefer the web version because I find it easier to search.

And if my wife is on the desktop I can use the HTPC to look at this forum. I have a tablet but it is small & slow.
