ellen page? This mean they got with the program and finally hired better VA's for the English dub?

Still, if it's another QTE game, count me out. If you're going to lean on the old school Action Adventure genre that Seirra did so well, at least go the whole way and innovate it. A game long GOW QTE fest kills me.

Telltale has been doing it better IMO.

Hopefully the writing and acting will be better.

Seemed genuine but I can never tell with her.

Can't wait, wow, between Last of Us in June, GTA V in September, and this in Oct - epic. Got to start cracking on my backlog including Max Payne 3, Sleeping Dogs, and Uncharted 3, this will give me a little motiviation.

Despite a few hiccups, Heavy Rain was a masterpiece. The Walking Dead was very good as well.

The release delay may finally give me the opportunity to play Heavy Rain. I've played the demo twice a few months ago and almost got sucked in, but decided to clear some backlog first (which I'm still working on, including The Walking Dead).

Yeah, I wasn't overly hooked by the demo, I was intrigued but certainly not floored. I think once you start playing the game (admittedly first couple chapters are slow), you will get hooked in and not want to put it down. The atmosphere and mood are just great, never felt so immersed in a game once it got going.

Normally I don't go out of my way (more accurately, I avoid) true crime as a genre. But the demo was enough to intrigue me as you say.

Heavy Rain is a slow starter but stays going once it gets going. I played the first few chapters with the normal controller then switched to the Move, which I recommend if you have the setup. Both work well, yet the Move controls are well done and make for a game within the game as you learn them. I hope there's a Move option in Beyond.

When BEYOND was first announced it was said to be Move compatible, but as we all know a lot can change in a year's worth of development time. The current product page on Amazon currently doesn't mention anything about Move compatibility.

Meh. Looks like a terrible game. I'm done with QTE's

It is not a QTE game. It may have a few here and there like many solo adventure action titles, but B:TS is mostly fully controlled by the player.

Quote:
At the event, studio boss David Cage revealed some interesting news as well, telling the same outlet that the game won't have quick-time-events. “No more quick-time events. We didn’t really have a problem with QTEs in Heavy Rain and I don’t think that players who played the game had any problem with that, but we wanted to reconsider the possibility of – instead of saying to the player what they’re supposed to do – how could we get rid of this and let players define by themselves, conclude by themselves what they’re supposed to do?" Cage explained.

So then how will the game be controlled? After all, gamers have come to expect loads of QTEs with every Quantic Dream title. “We still have a couple of prompts here and there, but no more than in a game like Tomb Raider, Uncharted or God of War, or whatever because all games use some prompts here and there. It’s part of what gamers are used to these days, but we use them in very few opportunities, and it’s not part of the main interface anymore,” Cage added.

Just because you don´t like this type of games doesn´t mean that it´s going tro be a terrible game.

Hey, Heavy Rain was pretty good. But, I question if 100% interactive cinema is really a videogame. If Joe's right, they're making moves to address that this time around.

Remembers me the old Graphic Adventure games like Lucas Arts´ THE DIG, yes, looks like the interaction with the game was reduced compared to Heavy Rain, but I got hooked with the 30 mins story, and I still consider this as a Video Game, some times I get bored moving the controller like crazy playing BF3, GT5 or Uncharted 2, and just want to watch nice graphics with a good story, taking decisions that take the game to different outcomes.

The 35 minute clip showed QTE's.. Looks more like an interactive/choose your own adventure movie than a game.

I really enjoyed Heavy Rain for the story, so I am sure I will check this game out. But at this point, I wonder if I should buy it or just rent it. I really have a hard time going back and playing a story that I already beat.

I'm sure I'll replay this to see some of the different endings, so owning it is a no brainer for me. I currently have it pre-ordered, though this past year I've generally stopped buying games day-one due to how quickly prices seem to be falling after release these days.
