Tapatalk now supported - Page 3

man this is good news! I was starting to get very frustrated with this site from my mobile devices. Even my android tablet couldn't handle the site. It has locked up multiple times on this site only, and sometimes posts multiple times, stops responding etc. grrr. Glad for the alternative --- now to test it out!

This is great! Trying out the new site on an android phone. Every time I read a new post, and go back to my subscription page, the posts I just read showing as un-read again. Thought I mentioned it, hope it makes sense... smile.gif

Please be so kind to post comments on the mobile in the Mobile Feedback Area as mentioned in the Click Here thread. smile.gif

It will help to keep things together as things/issues are found in the beta.

Thanks!

I've just done that. Thanks

Other people have reported that quotes don't work correctly. That is, it looks like one big blended paragraph. I posted the issue over at Tapatalk community but they said that avsforum is using your own plugin that interfaces to tapatalk.

Any thoughts on when this bug will be fixed?

Yes, I saw the announcement but I still like Tapatalk. Are you dropping support for Tapatalk?
Tapatalk will probably continue to function, but I doubt that any further updates will be made to its functionality now that we have our own mobile version.

According to Tapatalk forums, AVS is using a custom tapatalk plugin? What about dropping that and using the native one as it exists from Tapatalk?
It's my understanding that the native plugin doesn't work at all thus the need to tweak it.
And that would be a Tapatalk issue...not AVS's. They would have to make it like they have for other platforms. The developers here made it "work" so it would somewhat work. But the intent was to just get by with it until the HTML5 mobile version of the site was ready...and it is. I do not think any more development time would be spent on a dedicated app when we have a mobile version now.
Ok, I understand. Personally, I find the Tapatalk application to be very useful and I enjoy browsing various forum websites with it. I don't know how many avsforum users like to use Tapatalk. I know people have issues with it because you have to pay for the app but I find it well worth the value.

Would it help if I took a look at the plugin/customization to see how it can be fixed? I don't have expertise with Tapatalk but I'm a software developer with over 20+ years of experience (java/c++/perl).

That would not happen I am sorry for say for this platform is a private platform. But very kind of you.

Not to mention it all comes down to support also. We do not care to have to support multi version of apps for multi phones and OS versions of each phone. Not sure you had seen this...But if not take a read of the logic behind this under all the screen shot images....

Take care.

David/Mike;
Has taptalk access via login been turned off?
I can't access via any of 3 mobile devices I tried, 2 iPhones and 1 iPad.
I can access as a guest, but when try login get error message. It's like AVS is blocking my access.
Some screen shots:
Via web browser

Via taptalk as guest

My attempt at login

Process of login

I get this message

From the sequence seems like AVS let's me surf as a Guest but not if I try to login under taptalk.

Test reply via Tapatalk...
Seems to be working fine.

Tapatalk support for this forum has been offline since 31st morning. Admins: Please fix, Thx smile.gif
post #78 of 83
No, it's fine... I'm making this reply from Tapatalk. smile.gif

Try clear your taptalk cache, it works for me.
However, now I've got a quirk, posting pictures....

How do I delete my not needed taptalk uploaded images from taptalk dot com itself?

Sent from my 32GB iPhone4 using Tapatalk

I cleared history, but still getting an error (see screen shot). I have no issues accessing other forums (ex: Howard forums, XDA Developers etc).

Thx, that worked for me. I used Titanium Backup to clear cache, uninstall & reinstall.

I know I've said this before but it's worth saying again...

Tapatalk is only about 80% compatible with this platform and as far as I know, they have no immediate plans to improve on that. All AVS can do is enable/disable it. We have no control over how well it functions. It was only supposed to be a stop gap until our own mobile version launched. We've left it enabled, but it WILL be buggy.

I prefer Tapatalk and really wish AVS would support it.
