Please make posted in threads a little darker & "white space"

Can you make the posted in threads color a little darker blue. The shade difference is so subtle that it's had to see at a glance.

Also I have ads turned off and and view in full width checked. Instead of the columns filling to the right I have a large white space.

Hey William,

Thanks for the suggestion! We can tweak that color to something with a bit more contrast.

As far as the thread view goes, turning off ads doesn't actually hide that right column. For subforums, there is still related content that can show up there, and the root forum (in your screenshot above) uses the same structure. I'll see what we can do here.

I'm having the same problem. It's pretty hard to see the difference in color on my screen. Would be nice if there was more contrast. Btw, I'm using the default 'white' background.

Yeah, totally see what you are talking about. As Nick mentioned above, we will try and tweak this for a more contrasting color in the "white" background. Thanks for the suggestion.

Agreed, would like some more contract in the white background theme for threads you've posted in.

Otherwise I actually really like most of the changes to the site, which is rare for me when forums change.  I resist change.  But AVS has been pretty much the same for a decade and this software you're using is really nice.

Still would like to see the posted in threads with a little more contrast (darker) or another marking method.

  1. Install the "Stylish" extension/add-on for Firefox or Chrome (don't know about IE).
  2. Create a new style
  3. Add this code :
    Code:
    /* Make posted-in-threads more visible */tr.mod-select-parent.viewer-has-replied td.thread-col {  border-left: 6px solid #005194 !important;}

  4. Have it apply to URLs starting with "http://www.avsforum.com"
  5. Save and enjoy!

Thank my brother, he threw this together for us wink.gif

I took the liberty of adding it to the Stylish usersytles.org style library that you are directed to once you install the Stylish extension in Google Chrome with a hat tip to you and your brother.

I've installed it, but I'm not sure what it does as I really had no real issues with seeing that before based on my viewing style.

EDIT: Oh see what it does, now,it puts a light grey background on the threads you have posted in . That's a nice help.

On a related topic, please take a look at this thread, Highlighting threads that have been read.

Please read message #41 where it is suggested that I memorize the threads I have visited. Really?

Why doesn’t AVS have a color for threads that have been read? I don’t recall ever seeing a forum missing that.
