That seems to be the general consensus and my initial reaction to the situation. In the meantime, I felt it's best to expose Sony for the liars that they are and warn people of what they may go through before wasting their time dealing with Sony and their lemons.

The biggest problem with Sony is they give you a refurbished TV if the warranty permits it. But the refurb is just a TV that was sent back that is defective. The techs don't actually fix that defective TV and the next person that gets a replacement just gets another broken TV. The only way you win with a Sony TV is if you get lucky and get one without problems.

Sadly, every TV they sent me was brand new.

That doesn't make sense. Sony's policy is to fulfill warranty obligations with a refurb. I do not know why they would make an exception with you.
