It hardly would be worth the gain in the rankings of Google or anything for the searches internal here to be included. If they wanted that they could use a Google metric input internal Google search engine for the site from the get go.
You have been watching too many conspiracy shows. In this case, its Occam's Razor in effect. Never assume evil intent when something simpler is more likely.
AVS Forum is a pretty exceptional place with a lot of detailed knowledge is buried deep within. Let's see how things work as time goes on before searching for the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll, shall we?
Could very well be, but then why is the in-thread search so incredibly bad? This is not some new technology, Huddler does not need to re-invent the wheel here, and if they're incapable of fixing it why not use something like Google Enterprise Search on this site? Huddler took over Home Theater Forum about a year ago and they're still waiting for their search engine to be fixed, a search that worked just fine before Huddler took over by the way.
Again, in my opinion this lack of search capability is by design, there's been search engines used by 100's and 100's of forums for over a decade, and Huddler has trouble deploying one that works? Sorry, it just doesn't wash.
In you have time read the The true purpose of the relaunch?
thread and if you think I'm still wearing that tinfoil hat that's cool, it's hot during the summer and that tinfoil helps reflect the sun's heat anyway.
