Well, posts don't have titles so I'm not sure if you typed what you meant.

As you can see I did it and got 218 threads in the speaker area with "outdoor" in the title...

I can even narrow it down to 161 threads with "outdoor speakers" in the title...

Could you share exactly HOW you did that...I've tried 3 more times and can not duplicate your results.

Thanks in advance!

Keyword: outdoor
Title only
Entire site
Speaker section

Mike ....

So then when a specific forum has been selected (eg. Speakers) should not the Narrow Results setting default to "Posts only"?

Often you're looking for threads, not individual posts.

Ah so the "Titles Only" and "Posts Only" would be contradicting each other, got it.

You can help Huddler improve the search results by providing your feedback here:

Thanks Guys!

You used to have "advanced" functions where you could combine user names, keywords, and post age in order to filter out some of the useless garbage. It appears you can't do any of that anymore. Now I think I understand why the words "Audio Video Science" have seemingly disappeared from the site. The vast storehouse of technical information has been lost, simply because as users, we'll never be able to find it. frown.giffrown.gifmad.gif

I'm pleased to say that Mike pointed out to me a few minutes ago that "Advanced Thread Search V-1.0" is now operational. I've tried it out and it seems to work pretty well, returning results as I would expect. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel after all . . . smile.gif

I expected a bunch of happy replies...I guess you're the only guys that uses it. cool.gif

I doubt that I was the only one to use it. But probably most people are like me... they had simply stopped clicking the formerly useless "Search this Thread" button. That's why I didn't know about the new functionality until you told me . . .

There does seem to be an issue with the search results returned on a search by username, with keywords, and "older than 1 year". It seems to return a few recent posts as well, near the top of the returned items. I'll look at it a bit more next week.. I'm going out of town in the morning and won't be taking my notebook.

Is there a reason why a thread title search for "forced" would turn up things like "geforce" and "nforce" and various other non-related titles?

I guess I don't understand why the results should include posts that are only 3 months old, when I specify "One year and older"? (I did not test all combinations of post age)

I know they're hard at work on the entire search algorithm system to improve results in any search query so until the whole thing is complete, there may be some stray results.

Update - I'm hearing this ^ may get fixed quickly.
